Welcome Back Swimmers and Parents:I wanted to start this season by introducing myself for those that do not know who I am. My name is Bill Steinhoff, I have coached on many different levels at different times in my career. I have been involved in swimming as an athlete or coach for 20 years. My coaching experience ranges from summer league (Here and Katy), USA Swimming (FCST) to High School (I am currently the head coach for Hightower HS in Fort Bend ISD). With my passion and knowledge of this sport I hope to grow the CLF team not only in size but also into a team of swimmers and parents that share my same love for swimming. One goal for me and my coaches this year will be to educate of athletes on proper technique because at this level of swimming if a swimmer posses the right skill then the chances of success will increase ten fold. There will be a fair amount of hands on work as the season progresses because the best way for a younger athlete to learn how to do something is by having more personal instruction. One way that we, as a staff, feel that we can achieve this goal is through the use of junior coaches. The junior coach program will be volunteers from the team. It is a program that is designed to allow us coaches to utilize our 13 and up swimmers to help instruct and demonstrate proper stroke to the younger/ lesser experienced swimmers. If you or your swimmer wishes to be a junior coach he/she will apply and I along with the Ford’s will determine who will become junior coaches there will also be an informational meeting about junior coaches (TBA) for those interested please e-mail me at bsteinhoff_02@yahoo.com or contact Greg/ Tracie Ford.
Basic requirements: at least 13 yrs old, Must be able to attend their own practice on a regular basis, Must be able to attend the meets, and finally must be able to keep a positive attitude about swimming and helping others. Again if you have any questions please e-mail me @ bsteinhoff_02@yahoo.com Thank you all for being part of the CLF Fins for this season,
Bill Steinhoff (Head Coach)
